What is Wireless LAN?
A wireless Local Area Network is a LAN that does not use conventional ethernet cabling to connect each computer to the network. Instead, each computer connects to the network wirelessly, transmitting via radio transmission technology to link up to the network.

What is 802.11b wirelss technology?
802.11b is an IEEE standard for wireless communication in 2.4GHz band. It uses only DSSS(Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum) transmission technology.

What is "Ad-Hoc" operating mode?
Two or more computers equip wireless devices such as wireless PCMCIA cards or USB adapters may communicate with each other without a wireless Access Point. The wireless devices must be set to 'Ad-Hoc' operating mode and have the same SSID for joining the Ad-Hoc group.

What is "Infratrusture" operating mode?
A network composed computers and access points. In this environment, the access point not only provides communication with the wired network but also mediates wireless network traffic in the immediate neighborhood. It allows all wireless computers to connect to a wired LAN through one or more wireless Access Points and it also allows wireless computers access to exsiting LAN resources, such as share files, printing, or Internet connectivity.

What is an Access Point? What does it do in the wireless LAN? Do I need it in my wireless LAN? How many Access Points should I use in my environment?
1) Access Point is similar to a bridge, it's in charge of connecting conventional wired LAN and wireless LAN.
2) It's vital for free communication between wired and wireless networks.
3) If you want to connect wireless computers to an exsitng LAN and share every resouces include Internet connectivity, it will be a best and simplest solution to deploy an Access Point in your wireless network.
4) It depends on the environment. If an area is too large to be covered by a single access point, then extension points can be used for coverage.

The “Signal Strength” and “Link Quality” in the Wireless LAN Monitor don't show any signal status even if the wireless LAN is connected normally.
This situation will happen if you chose “Ad-Hoc” mode in your wireless LAN environment. In Ad-Hoc mode, your computer might receive signal from multiple PCs with various signal strength, therefore the signal display will be confusing and misleading whatever being showed if both of the statuses are functioning.

The wireless connection doesn't display properly in my Windows XP desktop toolbar, is there something wrong with the device?
Please go to "Download Request" section to download the latest driver to correct the issue.

Will Bluetooth and Wireless LAN (WLAN) interfere with each other?
Yes,but it is not concern to work. Although they all operate at 2.4GHz ISM, but Bluetooth adopts Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum(FHSS) technology; most wireless LANs adopt Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum(DSSS) technology, they should not cause many perceivable performance issues, therefore they can coexist in an environment.
