Can't finish the Bluetooth driver installation.

  • The driver program may take several minutes to analyze your system while the installation is processing, please pay more patience waiting the entire procedure.

Can't find any remote device in the Bluetooth Neighborhood window or can't discover any service on a remote device.

  1. Make sure the remote device is powered on.
  2. Make sure the remote device is within range.

  Found the Network Access service on the remote device but still can't contact with it.

  1. If the remote device you connected to uses Windows 98SE/ME operating system, you must ensure that it has already installed an Internet routing software such as WinRoute Lite. You can get a downloadable version of WinRoute Lite from the website at http://www.tinysoftware.com
  2. If the remote device you connected to uses Windows 2000 operating system, you must ensure that it has already enabled the "Internet Connection Sharing" function.
    • In the desktop of Windows 2000 of the remote device which provides the Network Access service, select Start > Settings > Control Panel > Network and Dial-up Connections.
    • Right-click on Local Area Connection icon; select "Properties" in the pop-up menu.
    • Select Sharing tab in the Local Area Connection Properties window.
    • Enable the "Internet Connection Sharing" function in the Sharing tab.
    • When the warning window appears, press Yes button to confirm the change.

Does Bluetake USB Dongle support Windows XP? If yes, is there any problem may expose with the latest Windows XP operating system?

Yes, Bluetake USB Dongle supports Windows XP. Besides, the Bluetooth software functions the same, regardless of the supported version of Windows it is running on. The only defect may happen is that you can see every function description of service but icon when you open the Bluetooth Neighborhood window. To see all Bluetooth related icons, just click the "Large icons" icon lists on the Standard buttons column in the Bluetooth Neighborhood window.

How to use the Fax service?

  1. Make sure the remote Bluetooth device that you will use the Fax service has physically connected to a fax machine or a modem with fax function.
  2. Install a Fax software such as WinFax into your system.
  3. Replace the default fax modem with Bluetooth Fax modem in the properties of the Fax software.

Can't discover Dial-up Networking service on remote device.

  • Make sure whether a modem is physically attached on the remote device that you are going to connect to.
  • Make sure the modem driver has been installed in the remote device.

The Dial-up Networking service is already established but couldn't reach the Internet.

Make sure the TCP/IP setting is correct. The TCP/IP value is provided by your ISP.

The USB Dongle found the Bluetooth-embedded mobile phone but couldn't dial-up through it.

  • Make sure that your telecommunication provider offers either WAP or GPRS service.
  • Make sure the configuration of WAP or GPRS on mobile phone is exact.
  • Make sure the mobile phone can dial up via WAP or GPRS function before using the USB Dongle's Dial-up Networking service.

May it be possible to connect to two or more remote Bluetooth-enabled devices at the same time?

The Bluetooth wireless network permits eight Bluetooth-enabled devices in existence depends on the degree of interference around the Bluetooth environment. In practice, whether the local device connects to the other remote device or not, you can still see at least 7 remote devices at the same time. Therefore, the local device can't contact with others when it is communicating with the particular device at the same time.

Why some remote Bluetooth-enabled device that has been disconnected still remains in the Bluetooth Neighborhood window?

This situation is happened because the two Bluetooth devices have already been paired. In this case, the remote device that is paired would still remain its icon in the Bluetooth Neighborhood window whether it is within range or not.
To dissolve the paired relationship between the two devices, please follow the steps below:

  1. Right click on the Widcomm Bluetooth Console icon in the Windows toolbar, and then select Security option when the pop-up menu appears.
  2. There is a Paired Devices list in the right side of the Bluetooth Security window; you can delete any present paired device from the list.
  3. Choose the one you would like to dissolve the paired status and press << Delete button.
  4. Press Done button to close the Bluetooth Security window.
  5. Open the Bluetooth Neighborhood window and press Search For Devices icon to look for Bluetooth devices again. The remote device that was paired won't appear if it is out of range.

If you meet this problem, please remove the present Bluetooth software driver and re-install the driver again.

How do I create my own business card in local device? And how do I send it or receive others' business cards from remote Bluetooth devices?

The USB Dongle supports Microsoft Outlook items such as *.vcf, *.vcd, *.vcs, *.vnt and *.vmg format. You can create your own business card in Microsoft Outlook. To send, receive, or exchange the items, right-click on the Inbox icon of the Bluetooth Neighborhood window of the remote device, and then select one option you want to execute from the pop-up menu.

How to re-install BTW Bluetooth software?


1. Remove Bluetooth adapter from your computer at first.
2. Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs.
3. Select Bluetooth program, and remove it.
4. Restart your computer, Do not plug-in Bluetooth adaptor when you install
the bluetooth software/driver.
5. Now you can install the bluetooth software/driver, waiting the program
ask you plug-in the bluetooth device, then plug-in the Bluetooth adaptor.
6. Waiting for the install program finish. Then restart your computer.
7. Double click on "My Bluetooth Place"
8. Click "Next" then enter your PC name and click "Next"
9. Click "Skip" for next step
10.Click "Skip" for next step
11.Click "Skip" for close setup Windows
12. Try connecting other bluetooth device.

How to install BTW Bluetooth software in Windows XP SP2 system?


Microsoft released Windows XP Service Pack 2 (RC2) in August 2004, and Microsoft Bluetooth stack/driver had been embedded in this version. However, some Bluetooth services (ex. Headset) were still unavailable to be used with the Bluetooth stack/driver of Windows XP SP2. If you want to use the

HID (Human Interface Device profile), enables the Bluetooth keyboard and mouse
HCRP (Hard Copy Cable Replacement profile), enables wireless printing
DUN (Dial-up Networking profile), enables the Bluetooth mobile phone to work as a modem

PAN (Personal Area Network profile),
enables IP connections over Bluetooth wireless technology.
